Halt! sign STOP!The one-year anniversary of the "14 days to flatten the curve" lockdown is approaching – and with no end of coronavirus restrictions in sight, a blogger in the U.K. is warning that governments won't stop at the coronavirus.

British blogger Paul Joseph Watson contends the endless extension of mask mandates, business restrictions, and school lockdowns are an experiment by the hard Left to see just how much oppression people around the world can tolerate before they push back. The answer appears to be: much further than anyone thought possible more than a year ago.

According to Watson, it's now another weapon the Left has in its arsenal that it can pull out when it feels the need:

Watson: "Governments have now set the precedent that normal life is a privilege they allow us to have; something that can be withdrawn at any minute under any justification. Lockdowns have now been established as the primary, reasonable, go-to response to a crisis."

And Watson thinks he knows what the next crisis will be:

Watson: "This isn't going to end with COVID-19. You'll also hear louder calls for 'climate lockdowns.' Who wouldn't stay at home for a few weeks TO SAVE THE PLANET! Then a few weeks turns into a few months – BUT IT'S FOR MOTHER EARTH!"

Radio talk-show host Richard Randall says older Americans will probably resist before the younger set will – but he predicts that eventually, all will be forced to comply.

Randall

"There have been a lot of young people who are very, very concerned about climate change – and they are willing, I think, to stay home more; to quit doing this, to quit doing that," he tells One News Now. "[They'll decide] 'I can take my classes from home. I don't have to drive here. I don't have to drive there.'"

The Colorado-based radio host admits he's somewhat surprised folks have allowed it to go this far.

"It is a slippery slope – and how far down that slope will we go? Well, I figured people would have dug their heels in a long time ago," he shares.
