Pro-lifers embrace 'Day of Tears' to remember Roe

Supreme Court sunriseMore and more states are recognizing the need for an annual “Day of Tears” to remember, in shame, the day Roe v. Wade decision was handed down.

The one-day remembrance is being embraced by pro-lifers draw attention to fact that the lives of 62 million-plus babies have been ended by abortion.

Anne Fitzgerald, who leads the “Day of Tears” movement, tells One News Now that pro-life legislators have embraced the one-day commemoration in Alabama, Arkansas and Mississippi, and Louisiana lawmakers will take action when they convene in April.

The goal of the movement, Fitzgerald says, is to change the direction of the country.

“When you look at the statistics, and you look at the sheer volume of souls that we've lost, it's staggering. It's absolutely staggering,” she says. “And to think of who we have lost, it's just astonishing.”
