Democrats want the American taxpayer to pay for abortions, and pay through all nine months of pregnancy, but a pro-life group has the numbers to show why that is a sinister plan.
After the U.S. Supreme Court legalized abortion in all 50 states in 1973, Congressman Henry Hyde of Illinois finally passed the Hyde Amendment in 1976, which forbade use of federal tax dollars, Medicaid, for abortion.
Dr. Michael New, an associate scholar at the Charlotte Lozier Institute, tells OneNewsNow the amendment has saved many unborn lives.
“There's a lot of research,” New advises, “that shows that once you get the government out of the business of funding elective abortions, abortion numbers go down. It's basic supply and demand.”
The research suggests about 60,000 abortions are prevented annually, which pro-lifers view as lives that are spared, so that adds up to 2.4 million lives since the Hyde Amendment was approved.
Abortion-supporting Democrats, meanwhile, are busily working to get rid of the Hyde Amendment, which will mean more money for Planned Parenthood, and Joe Biden has flip-flopped after supporting it.
