A church pastor is encouraging other congregations to hold a service at an unlikely venue: a local Planned Parenthood clinic.
Ken Peters pastors Covenant Church, located in Washington state, but he is also involved in a pro-life ministry called The Church at Planned Parenthood.
“We're confronting evil,” he tells OneNewsNow, “but we're doing it in a way that you can't say, Hey, those people are hateful Christians.”
Peters and other church members gather at a Planned Parenthood in Spokane once a month, and the ministry website reports two other services in the state, as well as services that have begun in Oklahoma and Indiana.
Peters tells OneNewsNow if the gates of Hell are left alone, they have free reign. So the church needs to rattle them.
“Jesus said you're the light of the world. You're the city set on a hill. Don't hide it under the bushel,” he says, quoting Mark 4:21. “And I think sometimes our churches themselves can become the basket or the bushel that covers the light.”
