A report reveals some disturbing trends in the abortion business.
There are approximately 710 abortion facilities in the United States and 245 of them dispense the chemical abortion RU486, the take-home abortion method that has killed at least 24 women and sent 4,000-plus to hospital emergency rooms with serious problems, in some cases,
“Medication abortion clinics are on the rise,” says Cheryl Sullenger of Operation Rescue, “and I think we do need to do more to put restrictions on the distribution of abortion drugs.”
Operation Rescue, the veteran pro-life group that dates back to the 1980s, is including those statistics in its survey of U.S. abortion clinics that found many have moved to late-term abortions on women.
The trend shows there are currently 464 surgical abortion clinic that are conducting more second and third trimester abortions at the same time the number of clinics has dropped, too.
“These clinics are not equipped like hospitals,” Sullenger insists. “So when they bring women in [for] their third trimester pregnancy to do these outpatient abortions, that's very, very dangerous. We've seen women die from mistakes made during these kinds of abortions.”
Two other trends are mentioned in the report: rising prices for abortions and a rush to get women in for appointments to terminate their unborn child.
