Planned Parenthood has announced it is pulling out of the Title X family planning program after a federal appeals court sided with the Trump administration.

Title X serves approximately four million women annually by distributing approximately $260 million in federal grants to clinics according to The Associated Press.

Approximately $60 millions flows to Planned Parenthood annually but a “gag rule” imposed by the Trump administration --- and denounced by abortion supporters --- prohibits grant recipients from referring women for abortions.

Tobias

Carol Tobias of the National Right to Life Committee says pro-lifer organizations are pleased the 9th Circuit is allowing the new rule to take effect.

“And if Planned Parenthood loses $60 million because they have decided to put abortion as their number one priority,” she says, “that's fine with the taxpayers of America.”

Despite claims that women will suffer, Tobias says contraception is readily available for women and Planned Parenthood is just “one avenue” that was available.
