cash 100-dollar billOne of the nation's pro-life leaders says surveys that indicate public opinions on abortion do not reflect what is truly needed to combat it.

The studies support one side of the debate or the other, but by and large, they show that Americans want limits on abortion. One that tends to favor abortion is from the University of Utah, and it suggests young males are better off financially if their mate aborts their child.

"We are so jaded by this covenant of death of Roe vs. Wade that has produced a culture of death that our society is more interested in money and fame and fortune," laments Rusty Thomas of Operation Save America.

He says people need to understand that pregnancy is not a problem but a responsibility.

"Our nation is misdiagnosing the problem, and that's why our cure is literally killing us," the pro-life leader tells OneNewsNow. "We actually believe it's the child in the womb that is what is wrong with us, and that's what needs to be exterminated and eliminated from our lives."

But Thomas says the real problem is sin -- intimacy outside of marriage and adultery in marriage. And when people seek abortion to atone for morality, eliminating the child does not erase the sin.
