A county that is standing up for life is hoping the message will catch on in other communities, too.
Utah County, county seat Provo, has passed a resolution by the Board of County Commissioners condemning abortion because all human life is sacred and now is the time to say that publicly.
Commissioner Bill Lee, who sponsored the resolution, says it reflects the pro-life area of the state that is also a family-oriented community.
“And then on a national scale,” he says, “we see some more pushing toward how we're going to react when it comes to family and family matters, and also with life, and so it just kind of bubbled up and felt like the right time for me to go forward with it.”
With a national push for unlimited abortions and tax-supported abortions by left-wing Democrats, one might wonder why a small government body would respond locally. Lee says it’s because his job is to look after the safety and wellbeing of citizens.
“And that's something I swore an oath to,” he tells OneNewsNow.
