Trump confident pointing upEven though President Donald Trump has received harsh opposition to his numerous pro-life conquests, he has scored many victories for the preborn in America, and he has even been dubbed the most pro-life president of the United States – ever.

Despite brutal attacks waged by Democrats, Planned Parenthood, the mainstream media and the entertainment for his staunch biblical beliefs on the sanctity of human life, Trump has relentlessly pursued his pro-life campaign during the first year of his presidency – after eight years of the Obama administration’s radical pro-abortion agenda.

Going where other presidents haven’t

In fact, Trump became the first and only one of the 45 U.S. presidents to directly address the annual March for Life this month – as previous presidents, such as Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush – have only addressed via phone or recorded message. Mike Pence became the first sitting vice president to directly address the march last year.

“We cherish the sacred dignity of every human life,” Trump declared at the 45-year-old annual march challenging abortion and celebrating life, according to WND.

To emphasize Trump’s allegiance to the preborn on the 45th anniversary of the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision – which legalized abortion nationwide and opened up the floodgates for the killing of 60 million preborn children since then – the White House posted a fact sheet on its official website to point out a number of things the president is doing and had done to protect life. It also includes sobering facts and statistics that act as a motivation to the pro-life movement.

“The United States is one of only seven countries that allow for elective abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy; two of the other countries are North Korea and China,” the White House posted, calling this an “ignoble exception,” according to the White House website. “Research shows unborn babies feel pain as early as 20 weeks to such a degree that anesthesia is routinely administered to unborn babies undergoing in utero surgeries and premature infants of the same age undergoing surgery.”

It also pointed out two sobering facts about the hostile environment for human life that former President Barack Obama created during his eight years in office.

“In the United States, taxpayer funding subsidizes 900 health care plans that cover abortions, according to the Charlotte Lozier Institute,” the listing points out. “Under the previous administration, States were allowed to outlaw pro-life health insurance with impunity.”

A number of encouraging statistics were then listed off by the White House showing how the pro-life movement is continuing to win hearts across America:

  • A recent Marist-Knights of Columbus poll shows the majority of Americans (56 percent) believe abortion to be morally wrong.
  • More than three in four Americans support restrictions on abortion.
  • Even six in 10 of those who identify as pro-choice support restrictions on abortion.
  • Sixty-three (63) percent of Americans support a ban on abortion after 20 weeks of pregnancy.
  • Even the majority of pro-choice Americans (56 percent) support banning abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy.
  • Public support for banning abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy has grown by four percent in the last year.
  • Six in 10 Americans oppose using taxpayer money to fund abortions.
  • The majority of Americans (52 percent) believe that – in the long run – having an abortion does more harm than good to a woman’s life.
  • Nearly half of all Americans (47 percent) believe life begins at conception, and 62 percent believe it begins within the first three months of a pregnancy.

The fact sheet goes on to stress Trump’s wholehearted devotion to the pro-life movement.

“President Donald J. Trump is committed to protecting life [and] has shown his steadfast commitment to preserving the precious gift of life and defending religious liberty,” the White House site assures.

Pro-life progress

Going hand-in-hand with religious freedom, pro-life measures protecting preborn babies from tax-funded abortions and employer-based insurance programs that pay for abortions have been a priority for the Trump administration.

“[T]he Department of Health and Human Services announced a proposal to revise conscience regulations to protect Trump’s promise to enforce federal religious freedom protections [from abortions],” WND reported. “The plan includes restricting taxpayer funds – Including Medicare, Medicaid, and Obamacare – from being used by entities with discriminatory policies or practices. It also provides for protections for Americans who have religious or moral convictions related to certain health care services, and it recognizes that Americans should not be discriminated against for their religious or moral beliefs when participating in certain health services.”

Trump’s plight to save the preborn also extends across borders and seas.

“It was shortly after President Trump took office that he restored – and expanded – the Mexico City policy, which prevents $9 billion in foreign aid from being used for overseas abortions,” the WND report pointed out. “He also cut off American funding for the U.N. Population Fund, which colludes with China’s cruel program of forced abortion and sterilization.”

Taking on and reversing the damage Obama orchestrated against the pro-life movement during his two terms as president is another active goal of Trump.

“He overturned a ‘midnight regulation’ from Barack Obama that prevented states from defunding certain abortion businesses in family planning programs and has expressed strong support for the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act,” WND recounted. “He’s also issued guidance that enforces the requirement that taxpayer funds not support abortions in Obamacare exchange plans.”

The White House impressed the fact that it is still working to end elective abortions after 20 weeks and eliminate taxpayer funding that subsidizes health care plans that advocate abortions for their members.

Pence’s pro-life partner

When Pence welcomed pro-life advocates on the eve of last Friday’s March for Life, he highlighted the strides Trump has made for the sanctity of human life, and even called him the best champion for the preborn that the nation has seen since its founding nearly two-and-a-half centuries ago.

“[President Trump has] made a difference for life [in his first year in office], the vice president proclaimed, according to USA Today. “[Trump is] the most pro-life president in American history."

He then commended Trump for working to dismantle the radical pro-abortion policies of Mexico City and the U.N., as well as Obama’s requirement for states to fund Planned Parenthood.

"You made that happen,” Pence said, directing his words to Trump, as reported by the USA Today. “Your efforts over the years – over the decades – standing tirelessly for the sanctity of life, has brought this day about, this year about."

Proud about the Trump administration’s announcement last Thursday that it would champion health care workers’ rights who object to abortion, sex-change operations and birth control in accordance to their religious convictions, Pence ended his oration with more optimism for the future of the pro-life movement over the next three years, alluding to the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

"I truly believe – with all of my heart – this is the pro-life generation in America," Pence declared. "And I truly believe – in this generation – we will restore the sanctity of life to the center of American law once again."
