Compliments of the media, most Michigan residents don't know the story of a convicted felon who once was an abortionist.
Two years ago, abortionist Michael Roth was involved in a car wreck. In his vehicle police discovered the bodies of aborted babies, abortion instruments, and drugs used for that purpose. He was apparently providing door-to-door abortions.
Roth pleaded guilty in October – and according to Right to Life of Michigan spokesman Chris Gast, Roth's sentencing took place last week.
"They were all three felony convictions for larceny in a building," Gast tells OneNewsNow. "He had had someone steal Fentanyl, an opioid, and other equipment for him so he could perform at-home abortions – and as a result of these three felony convictions [he only received] probation and a small fine of almost $800."
Gast says it's "maddening" that someone like Roth – an abortionist with a long record – can get away with just a slap on the wrist.
"He's performed at-home abortions in the past; he has botched abortions; he's got a rap sheet that's so long," the pro-lifer lists. "And it's unfortunate that we see this all the time in the state: that abortionists just get a pass even when they're finally held accountable – [and] often they're not held accountable at all."
Seven other criminal charges were dismissed and Roth's medical license has been suspended.
Gast explains that a lot of Michigan residents don't know about the case because, although very serious, it has received almost no coverage by media in the state.
