An expert on Planned Parenthood is hopeful Congress will defund the organization and place it in a position to operate like other non-profits.
President Trump has offered to continue federal funds to the biggest abortion provider in the nation … if it would stop doing abortions. But Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards quickly refused that offer, complaining that federal tax dollars are not used for abortions. However, Jim Sedlak of American Life League says that is not true.
"If a woman goes in and gets an abortion -- but while she's getting an abortion she gets a physical exam; she gets anesthetic applied to her during the abortion, etcetera -- Planned Parenthood will charge for all of those other things, not linking them to abortions, and will get reimbursed by the government," Sedlak explains.
The pro-lifer notes that Planned Parenthood has faced lawsuits in California, Washington, Texas, and Iowa for overbilling the government and charging for services not rendered. He also tells OneNewsNow that defunding the organization would put Planned Parenthood in the position it belongs.
"They just need to operate like every other non-profit operates and raise their own money," Sedlak insists. "Let people who support them support them, and don't force the rest of the country and all of the good Christian people in the United States from having to pay for the nefarious operations of this organization."
In addition, defunding Planned Parenthood would free American taxpayers from funding the organization's sex education program that encourages young people into intimacy, the use of birth control, and abortion when the latter fails.
