A poll suggesting the majority of Americans now support abortion suggests otherwise when examined closer, says a pro-life leader.
A newly released Gallup Poll suggests a slim majority of Americans, 50 percent, are pro-abortion while only 44 percent are pro-life.
Carol Tobias, president of the National Right to Life Committee, insists there are other figures that favor the pro-life cause.
"The poll shows that if you ask them when abortion should be legal, there are 42 percent that would say abortion should be legal in any circumstance or in most circumstances," Tobias says of the polling.
Meanwhile, she says, 55 percent of respondents said abortion should be legal "only in a few cases or illegal in all cases."
That's a 55-42 split favoring life, she points out.
Yet another figure from the Gallup polling shows that 23 percent who self-identify as "pro-choice" said abortion should be legal "in only a few circumstances," Tobias tells OneNewsNow.
