Amy Coney Barrett sworn in first dayA conservative Pennsylvania activist says a vote Monday by the Supreme Court opens the door for Democrats to "steal" electoral votes away from President Donald Trump.

The justices' 4-4 vote upholds a state Supreme Court ruling that required county election officials to receive and count mailed-in ballots that arrive up until November 6, even if they don't have a clear postmark, as long as there is not proof it was mailed after the polls closed. The GOP in Pennsylvania had called on the high court to block the state ruling; so the tie vote – in which Chief Justice John Roberts joined with the three liberal justices – is viewed as a victory for Democrats.

Diane Gramley is president of the American Family Association of Pennsylvania. She says the final ruling illustrates the importance of getting Trump nominee Amy Coney Barrett (pictured) appointed to the Supreme Court.

"When there's a four-four tie, we again see evidence of John Roberts going over to the dark side and siding with the liberals, as he's increasingly doing that," she observes. "So yes, we definitely see the need for a true conservative on the Supreme Court, which would be Amy Coney Barrett."

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell expects a full Senate vote on Barrett on Monday, October 26. Observers expect her to be confirmed before the election, albeit by the narrowest of margins.

Gramley contends that allowing county officials in Pennsylvania three extra days to accept mail-in ballots will give Democrats plenty of time to prepare fraudulent ballots with which to steal the election. The country is "truly teetering on a cliff," she says, urging voters to rally behind the president.

"And it will all depend on how the vote goes on November 3 as to whether the Democrats get their way and steal the election here in PA," she concludes.

In 2016, Trump won Pennsylvania by a razor-thin margin, putting him over the 270 Electoral Votes he needed to be elected president. RealClearPolitics' poll average currently shows Democrat Joe Biden with a 3.7-point advantage.
