mail-in ballot vote by mailA tea party activist is confident that mail-in voting will not matter in the 2020 election and that it won't actually take weeks to learn the results.

With huge crowds at his rallies and a strong ground game, Tom Zawistowski, president of the Ohio-based We the People Convention, says Trump supporters have plenty of reason to be confident right now.

But many are afraid that fraudulent mail-in votes will illegally steal the election or that it will be weeks before the results are confirmed because "so many states" are allowing ballots to arrive long after Election Day.

But based on a study of the voting rules in each state and on the 2016 electoral map, Zawistowski says it appears that neither of those things is likely to happen.

"You've got to take events in perspective," he tells OneNewsNow. "First of all, what do we care if they're doing that in California? Trump's not going to win California anyway, right? So who's going to dispute that? The question is how many states are they going to have this going on -- like Pennsylvania  -- that are going to make a difference? And the answer is it's going to be a couple of states."

The tea party activist points out that President Trump is leading in Minnesota and in Michigan, so if he wins those states, then "Pennsylvania doesn't matter."

"Trump is going to end up on Election Day with 320 Electoral College votes, and the court cases and these waiting for them to decide -- it's not going to matter," Zawistowski continues.

Meanwhile, he maintains the importance of getting out and voting, if not in person, then he encourages voters to drop their absentee ballot into a drop box at the Board of Elections.
