A conservative activist says it would be a "tragedy" for voters to punish President Trump and Vice President Pence for their efforts to get a COVID-19 vaccine produced in record time.
During last week's vice presidential debate, Vice President Mike Pence pointed out that almost every day sees new therapeutics to combat the virus, including the one President Trump was given that has not yet been authorized for the general public.
"The president was willing to take a therapeutic drug that was only available as an emergency to give to the president of the United States," says Gary Bauer, president of American Values. "The president said he wants the drug he was allowed to take to be available to everyone that has the disease, and he is urging the Food and Drug Administration to sign off on that drug ASAP."
And thanks to the aggressive and comprehensive efforts of the Trump/Pence administration, vaccines will be available in record time this year or early next year.
"It would be a tragedy if voters punish Mike Pence and Donald Trump for getting these vaccines in record time and let Joe Biden and Kamala Harris get all the credit," Bauer poses.
The American Values president concludes by pointing out that the COVID-19 fatality rate is much lower than what the media claims.
