J. Trudeau speaking to parliamentA Christian educator and activist in Canada is rejoicing over liberal Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's failure to secure a seat on the United Nations Security Council.

When Trudeau assumed the office of prime minister in 2015, he made winning a seat on the powerful U.N. Security Council a top foreign policy priority. But Canada recently lost out to Norway and Ireland in a three-way race for two seats.

Dr. Charles McVety, president of Canada Christian College, says it was Canada's second consecutive defeat in a bid for a seat and an especially big blow to Trudeau.

"It's a really big deal about Trudeau not getting a seat on the Security Council," Dr. McVety begins. "This was something he promised. This is something he said, 'Vote for me because I will restore Canada's reputation in the world and get a seat on the Security Council.' Well, no, he did not."

McVety

The Christian educator says Trudeau tried to obtain the seat by nefarious means.

"He threw Israel under the bus," Dr. McVety asserts. "He then sent billions of dollars to Islamic causes to try to get his vote. He took our money, gave it to Muslim countries, and then they didn't vote for him. They turned on him, and he lost the Security Council bid. When you try to do things the wrong way, you don't get the right outcome, so I'm rejoicing."

Dr. McVety is excited about the prospect of Canada electing a prime minister who will turn the country in the right direction.
