CHAZ Seattle WA June 2020A pro-family activist says the idea that the ongoing violence and insanity is going to hurt President Donald Trump's re-election is just "fantasy."

A Fox News poll released last week shows former Vice President Joe Biden leading Trump by double digits: 50% to 38%. According to that poll, majorities say "racism, unemployment, and coronavirus pose a major threat to the stability of the country." The Fox poll also shows that fear of the other candidate winning is motivation for 63% of Biden supporters, compared to just 33% of Republicans motivated by the same fear.

However, the poll doesn't break down the totals state by state – and previous polls have shown that Democrats always poll better nationally because of huge advantages in big states like California and New York.

Brian Camenker is president of the pro-family group MassResistance. He says the continued lawlessness in big cities like Seattle isn't going to hurt the president's re-election effort.

Camenker

"All of these ridiculous polls are just baloney, just like they were last time," he begins, pointing to the 2016 presidential election. "All people have to do is watch that [lawlessness] and they know what their choice is if they have a business [or] if they have a home and they see this violence and insanity."

Violent outbreaks over the weekend in Seattle, Minneapolis, and Charlotte left four dead and more than a dozen people injured and/or wounded. And while not attributed to any certain protest, Chicago saw 14 fatally shot and more than 100 people wounded by gunfire over Father's Day weekend – that city's highest number of shooting victims in a single weekend this year.

It is "simply fantasy," says Camenker, to think that the violence and protests are going to damage Trump's chances for a second term.

"All it's going to do is help his election," the conservative activist argues. "Maybe he won't win Washington State, but boy he'll win all the ones around it. He will win a lot of other ones [too] because all he has to do is say You can either elect me – or there's your alternative … and people will believe it. I believe it."

The same Fox poll showed that enthusiasm for the candidate motived 62% of Trump supporters compared to 31% motivated by enthusiasm for Biden.
