A conservative activist is confident that if President Trump wins his re-election bid, Republicans will win big in down-ticket races.
In the wake of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer's (D-NY) over-the-top threat against two Trump-appointed Supreme Court members, the White House and Senate Republicans are fully aware that President Trump would be unable to appoint any conservative constitutional judges to the courts for at least two yearso if Schumer becomes Senate majority leader during Trump's prospective second term.
But Gary Bauer of the Campaign for Working Families believes Republican voters will be out in force this fall.
"I believe that if the president gets re-elected, and I think that he will, his allies will hold on to the United States Senate," he tells OneNewsNow. "And the bigger the president's margin of victory, the more likely that down-ballot Republican senators will win; some unexpected Democrat Senators will lose, and then more pro-life, pro-family, pro-religious liberty members of the House of Representatives will also win their election."
He also does not think moderates in America should take any comfort in the fact that Joe Biden now seems to be in the driver's seat for the Democrats.
"I think Joe Biden will end up being, if he won, as far left as Bernie Sanders would be if he got the nomination," Bauer poses. "In fact, I would not be surprised to see Joe Biden not move to the center rhetorically, but in fact move further to the left as he is sure he has the nomination wrapped up."
And radical socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), a Sanders supporter, says she would support Biden if he is the nominee.
