Donald Trump, president-electA man familiar to many for the Iran-Contra controversy, and more recently for telling the stories of U.S. military heroes, is predicting a second term for President Donald Trump followed by huge changes in the U.S. and around the world.

"What you're about to see in [Trump’s] second term, I believe, is a change of government,” Oliver North predicted to American Family Radio.

North's prediction wasn't about a GOP win: He predicted the world will see the people of Iran depose their fanatical leaders.

"People are protesting all over the country," he pointed out, "about the terrible treatment that the Iranian leadership is providing, and the terrible economy that the people are suffering under.'

In the Jan. 23 interview to promote a new book, the retired Marine lieutenant colonel was asked about the impeachment trial and the 2020 election.

“Number one, Donald Trump is not going to be thrown out of office by the Senate of the United States,” North told the “Today’s Issues” program. “Number two, he will be re-elected in November.”

Oliver North visiting troopsNorth, now 72, emerged as a key figure when Congress demanded answers from the Reagan administration about selling arms to Iran to aid the Contra rebels in Nicaragua. The decorated Marine officer has since taken on other roles including author, a radio talk show, and the long-running “War Stories with Olive North” that aired on Fox News.

North appeared on the AFR program to promote “The Rifleman,” a historical novel set during the Revolutionary War.

He gave the show a third prediction: Democrats will lose control of the U.S. House in November.

“The American public,” he said, “is going to stand up and say enough of this."
