Grilled by Fox News host, GOP senator defends BLM
Fox News viewers witnessed a lively debate between a show host and a U.S. senator this week, on the cable network’s most-watched program, and a constituent says he was ashamed at what he saw.
Sen. Mitt Romney would answer to Utah constituents and GOP leadership if he votes to impeach President Trump, says a conservative activist.
It is no secret that former governor of Massachusetts, now a first-term Utah senator, despises the current president and recently hinted to The Atlantic that he is open to voting for impeachment.
Brian Camenker, president of MassResistance, says he suspects Romney wants to cast an impeachment vote but knows the “blowback” from Utah.
Utah voters chose Trump over Hillary Clinton 45-27 after Romney enjoyed 48 percent of the vote in 2012.
“I think that if [Romney] also did that,” says Camenker, “he would alienate the other Republicans in the Senate...."
Romney would likely face the ire of Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, he adds.
Jenny Beth Martin, co-founder of Tea Party Patriots Action, tells OneNewsNow there is no "super majority" in the Senate that will vote against Trump.
"I don't even think they're going to have a majority to do that," she predicts. "I think the majority will be opposed to removing him from office."
