Elizabeth Warren pointingA veteran conservative and political analyst predicts Sen. Elizabeth Warren will be the nominee to challenge President Donald Trump.

“The only person standing between her and the nomination is Joe Biden,” observes Richard Viguerie, whose political acumen stretches back to the 1970s.  “The Democrat Party is not going to commit suicide and nominate Bernie Sanders.”

Warren, 70, announced she was running for president in a clumsy, beer-sipping announcement in January, which was described sympathetically as “ham-handed attempt” to appear authentic to American voters.

Yet the latest Democratic primary poll from Iowa shows Warren has “surged” in The Hawkeye State to overtake Biden and Sanders, the Des Moines Register reported over the weekend.

According to the article, Warren has jumped into a two-point lead with 22 percent of Democratic voters favoring her after Biden had led three earlier polls. He now trails second at 20 percent and Sanders trails a distant third at 11 percent.

Iowa is the first nominating contest for Democrats in the country, a date now just four months away.

In a nationwide survey of Democrats, the “RCP average” of five polls at RealClearPolitics shows Warren currently in second place (19.8 percent) behind Biden (30.2 percent), with Sanders in third (16.6 percent.

Among the five polls, Biden’s best showing is 33 percent in a SurveyUSA poll, and Warren’s best polling number is 25 percent in an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.

Sanders’ best polling number, meanwhile, is 20 percent in a Politico/Morning Consult poll that shows him ahead of Warren 20-18 percent.

Beyond those three candidates, no other Democratic candidate is currently polling in double digits after Sen. Kamala Harris began dropping to single digits in early August.

Sanders, Warren embracingWarren’s presidential campaign likely got a lot of attention from none other than Matt Drudge, founder of the popular Drudge Report web site, who tweeted “It’s Elizabeth Warren’s nomination to lose” after a New York City rally drew 20,000, Fox News reported.

Drudge also predicted early in 2016 that Donald Trump would win the GOP nomination.

Viguerie tells OneNewsNow that Warren checks all the necessary boxes to woo far-left primary voters, such as open borders and welfare for illegal aliens, abolishing health insurance companies, and championing abortion.

“She touches all the bases,” he says.
