U.N. building in NYC (United Nations)A government watchdog is urging the public to speak out about the corrupt and bureaucratic United Nations by encouraging the Trump administration to act.

Tom Schatz, president of Citizens Against Government Waste, tells OneNewsNow that his organization has documented the fraud and corruption at the UN for years.

Just one example is the World Health Organization whose New York City-based members enjoy high salaries and live in luxurious apartments.

“They spent more than $200 million a year on travel,” he says of the WHO, “more than they do to fight AIDS, hepatitis, tuberculosis and malaria combined. They’re overpaid.”

Donald Trump at UNThe ongoing problem, Schatz says, is that the United States donates much more than other country, yet has to turn around and fight the mission and goals of the UN that often conflict with its biggest financier.

Meanwhile, the CAGW president says the international organization is overrun with "bureaucrats, dictators, and thieves."

“They propagandize and work against our security and economic interests,” he complains. “Billions and billions of dollars every year are going down the tubes."

Even though the Trump administration and Republicans have vowed to punish the UN, CAGW says the UN deserves more scrutiny -- and Schatz encourages the public to urge Congress and President Donald Trump to hold the UN accountable.
