So much for safe, legal, and rare, as Democrats have changed their tune when it comes to abortion.
Even former Vice President Joe Biden says he now opposes the Hyde Amendment -- something Jeanne Mancini of March for Life thinks is really sad.
"He was in favor of the Hyde Amendment, and he was also pro-life for many, many, years, but he has flip-flopped on so many things, and sadly he has now lining up with every other pro-abortion Democratic candidate unfortunately," she says.
Mancini believes the pro-life issue should be bipartisan.
"But we're really seeing going into this presidential election that Democrats are running on an abortion extremism platform," she continues. "I mean, frankly they've moved from 'safely, legal, rare' to abortion on demand, until birth, paid for by your taxpayer dollars. That's the platform."
The Hyde Amendment prohibits federal funding of abortions, and because it was attached as a rider to the HHS appropriations bill, it must be passed each year.
"One of the best things people can do is contact their member of Congress, whether they're for us or not with us on the issue, and let them know where they stand," says Mancini. "Another thing, of course, is praying about this, because many people do have conversions about this issue, and their heart sees the truth about life, and they're willing to change their policies because they know this is a very, very important issue."
Mancini also urges pro-lifers to interact with people in their communities by talking to them about the issues and screening topical films like Juno, Unplanned, or Gosnell.
