Tlaib, Rep. Tashida (D-Michigan)The head of a messianic Jewish ministry says Rashida Tlaib's claims about Palestinians helping the Jews settle in the Holy Land following the Holocaust are not historically correct.

The Michigan freshman congresswoman has attempted damage control after outrageously commenting, "There’s always kind of a calming feeling I tell folks when I think of the Holocaust, and the tragedy of the Holocaust, and the fact that it was my ancestors — Palestinians — who lost their land and some lost their lives, their livelihood, their human dignity, their existence in many ways, have been wiped out, and some people’s passports."

She also claimed that Palestinians tried to create a safe haven for Jews after the Holocaust.

Jan Markell, founder and director of Olive Tree Ministries, weighed in on the controversy during an appearance on American Family Radio.

Markell, Jan (Olive Tree Ministries)"She's a hard gal to figure out because we know she hates Donald Trump, which is not surprising, and she's said some very terrible things about him," Markell relayed. "But then she went on to say that her people helped the Jews get settled in Israel back when it was called Palestine. But I've got to tell you there's no distinct Palestinian culture, no distinct Palestinian language, no distinct Palestinian art -- anything like that. They're Arabs; that says it all."

Markell also finds Tlaib's comments outrageous in light of the fact that the "Palestinian" leader at the time of the Holocaust hobnobbed with Adolph Hitler.

"That's a really important point," the ministry founder asserts. "Yasser Arafat's uncle, I believe, met with Hitler during World War II so they could scheme together how they could annihilate world Jewry."

"Of course she would leave that out," Markell adds about Tlaib. "I can't say I blame her, but let's get history straight."
