A new study found that more than nine out of 10 college faculty and administrators in Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s (D-Mich.) district who gave political donations between 2017 and 2018 directed them to the Democratic Party.
Higher education in the United States – which predominantly teaches history from a pro-Palestinian and anti-Israeli point of view amidst the nationwide Boycott Divestment Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel taking place across American university campuses – has long backed Democrats, even when anti-Semitic Muslims are serving in office, such as Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, who served as a state representative for 12 years.
Overwhelming majority of educational professionals choose Dems
Recent analysis shows that faculty members and administrators are blue through and through in the district represented by the controversial Muslim congresswoman, Tlaib, whose most recent anti-Semitic comments concerning the Holocaust triggered a major backlash.
“There’s always kind of a calming feeling, I tell folks, when I think of the Holocaust, and the tragedy of the Holocaust, and the fact that it was my ancestors – Palestinians – who lost their land and some lost their lives, their livelihood, their human dignity, their existence in many ways, have been wiped out, and some people's passports," Tlaib said, according to Fox News. "And, just all of it was in the name of trying to create a safe haven for Jews, post-the Holocaust,post-the tragedy and the horrific persecution of Jews across the world at that time. And, I love the fact that it was my ancestors that provided that, right, in many ways, but they did it in a way that took their human dignity away and it was forced on them."
However, come election time, it does not appear that Tlaib will have to worry about raking in major campaign cash from professors, administrators and others in her district, which includes Wayne State University and the University of Michigan-Dearborn – located in the city with the largest Muslim population in America.
The ongoing series of analysis of political donations based on Federal Election Commission records shows that Democrats are a shoe-in in certain states and congressional districts across the U.S. – especially Tlaib’s MI-13.
“Two-hundred eighty-four (284) faculty members, specifically, donated a total of $98,829.42 to politicians or political organizations,” Campus Reform revealed. “They contributed 92.39 percent of the money to Democrat politicians or organizations, [while] just 7.61 percent of donations went to Republican causes or politicians – like other Michigan Senator Gary Peters.”
Things were even more lopsided in Democrats’ favor with campus administrators.
“[A whopping] 97.92 percent of all college administrators in Michigan’s 13th district who donated to political candidates or causes gave a total of $22,415.78 to Democrat politicians or Democrat organizations, such as Michigan Democrat Sen. Debbie Stabenow,” Campus Reform’s Grace Gottschling divulged from the study. “Sixty-two (62) administrators donated a total of $22,890.78, with $22,415.78 going to Democrat political candidates and politicians. According to the records, only three administrators – all from Wayne State University – made a contribution to Republican politicians or Republican organizations from 2017–2018.”
Overall, nearly 95 percent of those on college payrolls who made political contributions were left-leaning Democrats.
“In total, MI-13 college employees donated $154,034.47 to partisan groups or individuals from 2017-2018,” Gottschling continued. “Of that amount, 94.52 percent were made to Democrat politicians or Democrat organizations, while just 5.35 percent of the donations were made to Republican politicians or Republican organizations.”
A party of anti-Semites?
With Ellison playing it more low-key after facing domestic abuse charges, fellow Muslim Democrats Tlaib and former Somali refugee Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) have stepped up their anti-Semitic remarks since being elected last November. Both Elison and Tlaib have showed ties and allegiance to America’s most notorious anti-Semite, Louis Farrakhan – the leader of Nation of Islam – while Omar has received accolades from the racist Muslim activist, who told her, “You have nothing to apologize for,” after she made an anti-Israel statement.
President Donald Trump condemned Tlaib’s latest attacks on Jews and Israel on Twitter.
“Democrat Rep. Tlaib is being slammed for her horrible and highly insensitive statement on the Holocaust,” Trump tweeted Monday. “She obviously has tremendous hatred of Israel and the Jewish people. Can you imagine what would happen if I ever said what she said, and says?”
Other Republicans, tore into the ultra-left politician for her racist remarks regarding the Holocaust, as well.
“Surely now @SpeakerPelosi & @LeaderHoyer will finally take action against vile anti-Semitism in their ranks,” Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) tweeted Sunday. “This must cross the line, even for them. Rashida Tlaib says thinking of the Holocaust provides her a ‘calming feeling.’”
Cheney also addressed Tlaib’s comment on national television
"I think most fourth graders know what the Holocaust was, and she apparently doesn't," Cheney told Fox & Friends regarding Tlaib’s ignorance displayed in her Holocaust rendition.
Trump’s former attorney also had something to say on the matter.
“[F]ormer New York City Mayor Rudy Guiliani condemned Tlaib for her comments on the Holocaust,” Breitbart News reported. “He argued that Tlaib is wrong to suggest that her people were kind to Jews after the Holocaust.”
In fact, both Palestinian and Israeli historians argue that Palestinians were eager to inflict more harm on Jews after the Nazi Germans brutally murdered more than 6 million of them, which is not far from the Muslim Arab people’s current call to wipe Israel – which it calls “Little Satan” off the face of the Earth.
Guiliani pointed to historical fact – not Tlaib’s historical fiction – to set the record straight.
“Rep. Tlaib’s fond memories of how kind her ancestors were to the Jewish people ignores the historical fact that during WWII, the leader of her people, the Grand Mufti, was a close ally of Hitler,” Giuliani tweeted Tuesday. “He murdered Jews. He did everything he could to destroy a Jewish homeland.”
Despite numerous blatantly anti-Semitic rants coming from the lips of Tlaib, her Democratic Party – which has backed off from officially condemning her anti-Semitism – is still expected to bring in the overwhelming majority of donations from her district and many others across the nation.
