The head of a pro-Israel ministry near Nashville has taken took her battle to remove a Muslim member of the House to Capitol Hill.
Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D-Minnesota), who has been a lightning rod since taking office in January, continues to make controversial anti-Semitic comments that have forced her own party leadership into damage control. In fact, there are reports that some party members in Minnesota are looking to find a primary opponent in the next election.
But some pro-Israel proponents believe Omar needs to go now. Among those is Laurie Cardoza-Moore, founder of Proclaiming Justice to the Nations. "[I believe] she is … in violation of the U.S. Code 2385, which basically calls on anyone who aids and abets the enemy of America to be arrested and, of course, tried," she tells OneNewsNow.
Last week, Cardoza-Moore went to the nation's capital and personally delivered letters and a petition with tens of thousands of signatures to the offices of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Attorney General William Barr. The letters demand a "full and thorough investigation" into Omar's connections to the Muslim Brotherhood, an organization that PJTN says seeks to destroy America.
Some of Omar's critics have called for her to be removed from her position on the House Foreign Affairs Committee. But Cardoza-Moore says that isn't enough.
"She is a threat to our national security. She is a threat to our allies and their national security. She's a threat to our Christian and Jewish communities," the PJTN founder lists. "No, she has to go!"
As an example of that threat, PJTN points out that Omar was or will be a keynote speaker at events hosted by two groups affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood: a fundraising event last month for Islamic Relief, which has documented ties to terrorist organizations; and a similar upcoming event for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the American arm of the Muslim Brotherhood.
