Muslim Congresswomen Omar and TlaibA conservative activist says former Democratic presidents Franklin Roosevelt, Harry Truman, and John Kennedy would be "mortified" by some of the people who carry the label of "Democrat" today.

Self-avowed socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, representing New York's 14th District, is the new darling of the left and the mainstream media; she is one of the more radical members among the freshmen Democrats of the 116th Congress. Joining her in that left-leaning group of newcomers are two Muslim women: Michigan's Rashida Tlaib (13th District) (above, right) and Minnesota's Ilhan Omar (5th District) (above, left).

Gary Bauer of the Campaign for Working Families is concerned that newbies like Ocasio-Cortez, Tlaib, and Omar are the rising stars in the Democratic Party.

Bauer, Gary (American Values)"[It appears that] one of America's two great political parties is going to veer off into this kind of extremism," he tells OneNewsNow, describing the three women as "anti-Israel ... anti-Semites ... socialists ... [and hateful of] free markets and capitalism."

"They have a very low opinion of the United States," Bauer continues. "They're more likely to attack the history of the United States than [they are to] hold up the history of the United States."

They definitely don't measure up to what their party used to stand for, he argues.

"All these things should cause the adults in the Democratic Party to begin to stand up and say this isn't the future of our party," says Bauer. "They are, after all, the party of FDR and John F. Kennedy and Harry Truman – and I think those former presidents would be mortified to see who some of the people are that are now carrying the label of 'Democrat' by their name."

But Bauer sees a silver lining in the midst of it all, predicting that anything that comes out of the House of Representatives under the control of Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the progressives will either be stopped in the Senate or vetoed by President Trump.
