Pence pumps up GOP at VVS, lauds Kavanaugh, slams Obama

Mike Pence thumbs upVice President Mike Pence took the stage at the 2018 Values Voter Summit Saturday morning and rallied social conservatives to get the vote out at November’s midterm elections – before standing behind United States Supreme Court (SCOTUS) nominee Brett Kavanaugh as a “man of integrity” and slamming former President Barack Obama for taking credit for America’s booming economy.

Pence took the time at the Family Research Council (FRC) event in Washington, D.C., to warn conservative Christians about being complacent as the midterm elections approach – telling faith voters that not being aggressive at the polls is the biggest threat that could keep Republicans from maintaining control of Congress.

"The other side is mobilized – and some say they’re motivated as never before,” Pence alerted attendees Saturday morning at FRC’s Voter Values Summit. “But I say we must match – in fact, I say we must surpass – the energy of the American left and their enthusiasm and passion."

Dems vs. GOP as different as black vs. white …

The vice president made it clear that it is the Republican Party that champions the principles and values held by God – not the Democrats and their unbiblical agenda that promotes immorality and abortion.

"[The midterm elections are a] choice between a party that celebrates America and one that often demeans millions of our neighbors and friends," Pence continued. "Let’s keep faith that He who has ever watched over this nation still governs in the affairs of men."

Over the years, Pence has frequently lauded President Donald Trump for boldly and unapologetically taking a stand for biblical morality on controversial issues – like few presidents before him.

“Pence had vouched for Trump's anti-abortion credentials and his support for other issues important to conservative Christians before the 2016 election – one reason Trump received more of the white evangelical vote than the last three GOP presidential candidates,” USA Today reported.

Despite all the controversies thrown at him by the Democratic Party and the mainstream media before the 2016 presidential election, Trump appealed to a greater proportion of white evangelical voters than any Republican running for the White House for the previous dozen years.

“In the last election, 81 percent of white evangelicals voted for Trump,” USA Today’s Maureen Groppe informed. “That’s a greater share than supported George W. Bush in 2004, John McCain in 2008 or Mitt Romney in 2012.”

Defending the prospective SCOTUS judge

While pumping up conservative Republicans to keep Democrats from taking over the nation’s capital via the upcoming elections, Pence also took the time to take a stand in defense of Kavanaugh, praising him as a “man of integrity” and blasting Democrats for their “disgraceful” handling of his confirmation process – especially regarding his accuser, Christine Blasey Ford.

Democrats have been eagerly rallying behind Ford, who accused Kavanaugh of trying to force himself on her at a high school party nearly 40 years ago.

“Several Democrats have sided with Mrs. Ford, saying they believe her story, while others have supported her calls for an FBI investigation into her decades-old claim,” The Washington Times noted.

The blue party has been maneuvering to disqualify the Trump-appointed SCOTUS nominee as Ford moves forward with her sexual assault allegation from her teenage years, but Pence chastised Democrats for taking advantage of the situation and derided their machinations to use it to keep a biblically minded conservative from being on the bench in the nation’s highest court.

“But honestly, the way some Democrats have conducted themselves during this process is a disgrace and a disservice to the Senate and the American people,” Pence lamented, according to The Washington Times.

Pence then switched gears to focus on Kavanaugh’s impressive track record over the past decades as an adult, stressing the godly principles to which he has adhered while serving in the nation’s judicial system.

“[Kavanaugh has] impeccable credentials and a proven judicial philosophy [and has established a] strong record of support for limited government, religious liberty and our Second Amendment,” Pence asserted. “He is a conservative who will interpret the Constitution as written, and his record and [his] career deserves the respect of every member of the United States Senate.”

He showed little doubt that the Democrats’ attempt to dig up the past – as they successfully did to keep Judge Roy Moore from winning an election months ago – will work to keep Kavanaugh off the bench.

“The president and I are confident that Senate Republicans will manage this confirmation properly with the utmost respect for all concerned, and I believe that Judge Brett Kavanaugh will soon be Justice Brett Kavanaugh and take his seat on the Supreme Court of the United States of America,” Pence proclaimed to the Values Voter crowd in the nation’s capital.

Hitting back at Obama

While speaking at the summit, Pence also addressed a number of recent speeches given by former President Barack Obama, who has been taking credit for the burgeoning economy under the Trump administration.

“Mr. Pence specifically reference[d] comments the former president made about the economy on Friday while campaigning for Democrats in Pennsylvania,” CSPAN informed.

From the podium, the vice president boldly directed his remarks over the matter straight at Obama.

"This economy isn't booming because of your policies,” Pence impressed to the former president, according to CSPAN.

Pence went on to tell the 44th president that for two years, he and Trump have been cleaning up the mess Obama and former Vice President Joe Biden made of the nation’s economy during their eight years in the White House.

“It's booming because we've been rolling back the failed policies of your administration since day one!" Pence exclaimed at the summit.

Addressing abortion on day one

The day before Pence addressed the Values Voter Summit, pro-life activist David Daleiden motivated social conservatives to hit the ballot box in November while slamming the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s “unconscionable” message that “babies are worth more dead than alive.”

He was referring to the FDA’s recent decision to renew a contract that permits the attainment of “fresh” aborted baby body parts so they can be used in scientific research.

Daleiden was in the middle of Planned Parenthood’s selling of baby body parts scandal that rocked the country in recent years.

“Daleiden became a major pro-life public figure in 2015 when he and his team of undercover investigators at the Center for Medical Progress began releasing a series of undercover videos that showed Planned Parenthood staff and other abortion providers discussing the harvesting and selling of aborted babies’ hearts, lungs, livers, tissue and limbs,” The Christian Post (CP) recounted.

He was appalled that his and fellow Americans’ taxes were paying to dismember preborn children.

"It's unconscionable that the United States government would be sending a message with taxpayer dollars that these children are worth more to the U.S. government dead than alive," Daleiden expressed at the FRC event, according to CP. "It's imperative that all of us make sure that our voices on that issue are heard, [and] it's imperative that the videos continue to be shared, continue to be viewed, and that policymakers and your elected representatives know that you don't want taxpayer dollars to be going to fund the commodification of our unborn brothers and sisters like widgets on an assembly line."

During his speech, the pro-life advocate brought attention to the fact that millions of Americans are now aware of what really goes on behind the doors of Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers that make a living off death.

“Daleiden also provided updates on CMP's efforts, noting that the undercover videos they released have been viewed 13 million times,” CP’s Michael Gryboski noted from the summit.

He said that because of efforts to expose the atrocities taking place in abortion clinics across the nation, millions of dollars from the federal government are no longer paying for the killing of babies through the world’s largest abortion provider, which has greatly contributed to the 60 million preborn children who have been aborted since the notorious landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade SCOTUS decision that legalized the lethal practice.

"Because of these videos, we are now one vote away from defunding Planned Parenthood nationally of their $500 million in taxpayer funds," Daleiden proclaimed, evoking cheers from the D.C. audience. "We are one vote away from that in the U.S. Senate."

He then commended Trump’s actions to make sure that American taxpayers are no longer paying for a practice that goes against their sincerely held Christian beliefs.

"The pro-life Trump administration has begun the process of defunding Planned Parenthood by strictly enforcing existing law against taxpayer funds being used to prop up big abortion businesses like Planned Parenthood – through the Health and Human Services Department," Daleiden pointed out.
