Feinstein disowned by 'progressive' CA Dems

Sen. Kevin De Leon (CA dude)Already a bastion of far-left leaders, California has swung so far left that Democratic icon Dianne Feinstein has been tossed under the Progressive Bus.

Known for her hatred of "assault weapons" and her love for Planned Parenthood, Feinstein watched over the weekend as the California Democrat Party threw its support behind state lawmaker Kevin De Leon (pictured above).

Feinstein, 85, who is seeking a fifth term, received a paltry seven percent of the vote from 330 Democratic committee leaders while De Leon, 51, enjoyed 65 percent of their support.

Feinstein has already defeated the challenger in the June primary, finishing first in every county, and with $7 million in campaign cash, she could still win the General Election in November, The Los Angeles Times pointed out.

But far-left activists are rallying behind the fresh face.

"I just think we need a younger, progressive person there,” a De Leon supporter told the Times. “The Democratic Party in California has moved to the left, and he personifies those values.”

Watching this left-wing fight from afar, conservative activist Randy Thomasson of SaveCalifornia.com says Californians have finally found their "socialist-communist-progressive" in De Leon.

California flag"Feinstein is seen as actually to the right of the Democrat Party while Kevin De Leon is seen as smack center of the Democrat Party," says Thomasson. "But that means that the Democrat Party has jumped over the cliff."

According to The Los Angeles Times, De Leon is an aggressive supporter of single-payer healthcare, renewable energy, and the state's $15 an hour minimum wage. He is also virulently anti-Trump.

Although the state lawmaker is virtually unknown outside Calfifornia, OneNewsNow readers may remember De Leon from a 2017 story about illegal immigration, when De Leon told the senate's Public Safety Committee that illegal aliens frequently obtain fraudulent documents to live and work in the state.

He later told a local radio station that those documents can be obtained at a Los Angeles park, McArthur Park, and defended obtaining fake Social Security cards and immigration "green" cards.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein at Gorsuch hearings"You don't think purchasing a phony Social Security card and number should be a deportable offense?" the radio host, Larry Mantle, asked him, Breitbart reported.

"I don't think so," De Leon replied, because "hard working" immigrants are acquiring the fake documents to pursue job opportunities.

"They want no such thing as an American citizen that is distinct from south of the border," Thomasson says of California progressives. "They want no such thing as the Second Amendment and they're making these litmus tests for candidates."

Feinstein's rebuke by Democrats is similar to tea party Republicans in Arizona censuring longtime senator John McCain in 2013 – only to witness McCain and his political machine oust them from influential positions across the state and then boast to national media about their purge.

With the Democrats moving left and the Republican Party ditching its "RINO" establishment and moving right, Thomasson says that leaves a large group of undecided or just plain unaware voters in the middle. Those voters, he says, are up for grabs.

"Getting to them with public safety issues," he observes, "getting to them with some basic moral values - those people would respond, because they're scared and they're looking for a leader who will protect them."
