GOP and Dems duking it outA St. Louis-based black conservative activist is not optimistic that a state senator will be forced out of office after recently tweeting that she hoped President Donald Trump would be assassinated.

Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal (D-Mo.) created a firestorm when – in response to a tweet – she tweeted: "I hope Trump is assassinated."

Even though she removed the post – that she said she regretted – the Leftist politician initially made no apologies for her anger at the president over comments he made in the wake of the Charlottesville, Virginia, violence. But on Sunday she stood before a church in Ferguson, MO, and apologized to the president, the president's family, and her constituents.

Even Democrats -- including United States Senator Claire McCaskill and the chairman of the Missouri Democratic Party, Stephen Webber – have called for her resignation. Not backing down, Chappelle-Nadal told St. Louis radio station KMOX that she will not quit.

Stacy Washington – who is a member of the National Advisory Council of the Project 21 black leadership network – insists that violent-tongued Democrat must be held accountable for her words.

"She's been very incendiary,” Washington asserted. “She makes bombastic statements on the regular.”

The conservative leader – who is also the host of the program, Stacy in the Right, broadcasted on American Family Radio’s Urban Family Talk network – argued that if such a remark was made during the last administration, there would have been severe consequences.

“But this one is beyond the pale because you and I know that if the shoe was on the other foot, and it was a Republican legislator that made a statement like that about then-president Obama, there would be cities on fire,” Washington contended. “People would have to lose their jobs.”

She maintains that both parties – not just Republicans – should he held accountable for their actions and words.

“So, this double standard exists,” Washington continued. “I hate it, but it's just another example of how Democrats do not uphold themselves to the same standards that they push off on the Republicans."

The radio host stressed that a recall is the best way to remove Chappelle-Nadal, but she is not very optimistic that this will happen.

"I just don't think they're going to get rid of her,” Washington concluded. “She's going to get to stick around after saying this, which is such a shame. It's so embarrassing for us. We have Ferguson. We have Maria Chappell-Nadal. We seem to have an overabundance of garbage here in Missouri going on."
