A longtime conservative activist says a Democratic Party takeover of the House of Representatives in 2018 would mean dire consequences for more than just Donald Trump.
The liberal assault on President Trump continues. The mainstream media and Democrats on Capitol Hill continue to push a so-far unproven narrative that the Trump campaign somehow colluded with Russia, and that that was what caused the ultimate defeat of Hillary Clinton, the Democrats' standard bearer.
Conservative activist Richard Viguerie, chairman of ConservativeHQ, offers his assessment of that liberal assault.
"What the Democrats are really up to, quite frankly, is they're trying everything they can to think about how they overturn the election results," he says. "You know they're very angry people and they're doing whatever they can to reverse the election results."
He adds: "They won't stop short of anything until they achieve that or the voters reject them again, as I think they will, in 2018 and 2020."
And Viguerie is convinced that if the Democrats retook control of the House, they "absolutely" would immediately file articles of impeachment against Trump.
"... I think they will have all kinds of trials and they will use the subpoena power to jail their opponents – and I think that would have happened if Hillary had been elected in 2016," he continues. "I think anybody who was a serious opponent of them should be worried about being punished by the police state."
But Viguerie doesn't believe the Democrats will be successful in wresting control away from the GOP next year.
