Obama speaking at G20 Nov2015A messianic Jew and radio host predicts the Obama administration will work hard in its final year to get a Palestinian state.

Jan Markell of Olive Tree Ministries says President Obama has "undermined" the work of previous presidents during his seven years in the White House.

"I think he will be advocating for a Palestinian state here now in the coming weeks and months," she told the "Today's Issues" program in a Dec. 28 interview.

A so-called "two-state solution" is not a new idea for Israel and the Palestinians but Markell predicts a big push coming in 2016.

Markell, Jan (Olive Tree Ministries)A "big question" during the year, she said, is what happens during the November election since there are several "pro-Israel" candidates seeking the White House. She named Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio by name, and added longshot candidate Mike Huckabee.

What about Donald Trump, the current GOP front-runner?

Markell says she's troubled by Trump's comment that Jews won't vote for him, which she says is true since he's a Republican candidate.

"But then he went on to say, Because they know they can't control me. That is rather a disparaging comment," she said.
