A pro-family activist says he's disappointed that several Republican presidential hopefuls are giving mixed signals about their views on same-sex "marriage."

As reported on OneNewsNow, retired neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson recently created controversy when he endorsed the re-election of U.S. Senator Rob Portman, who created shock waves in the conservative community in 2013. He revealed that his son is a homosexual and he now supports same-sex marriage.

LaBarbera, PeterPeter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth about Homosexuality says it's inexplicable that Carson, who professes support of traditional marriage, would endorse Portman.

Labarbera claims Portman is in "big trouble" during his re-election for supporting same-sex "marriage," a decision that alienated Ohio voters.

"So why would Ben Carson come in and then support this man?" LaBarbera asks.

The pro-family activist is also concerned about a recent comment from Ohio Governor John Kasich that even though he opposes same-sex marriage, he plans to attend the same-sex ceremony of a "gay friend."

By attending, says LaBarbera, Kasich is signaling that the issue isn't important to him.

He tells OneNewsNow: "Even if it's your friend, if they're involved in celebrating the perversion of homosexuality through marriage - which is an incredible blasphemy against God - you should not want to be part of that celebration if you believe the truth about marriage."

The same thing can be said about Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, who has acknowledged that he attended the reception of a homosexual marriage, even though he didn't go to the actual ceremony, LaBarbera says.
