A human rights group says Iran continues to demonstrate a disregard for basic religious freedom.
According to International Christian Concern, the latest example happened last month when Iranian authorities arrested 14 Iranian Christians after a raid on a house church gathering.
ICC's Todd Daniels says the human rights situation in Iran continues to be abysmal.
"Everything from freedom of speech, freedom of the press, women's rights, and especially religious freedom have shown no signs of improvement under the presidency of Hassan Rouhani," Daniels says, referring to the Iranian president (pictured above) who was elected two years ago.
What's happening now, he says, is just as bad if not worse than the persecution allowed by the former president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
So-called house churches are growing in the Islamic country, leading to the increase of crackdowns, says Daniels.
