Maginnis: CIA 'woke' video not real life beyond HR dept

CIA Memorial WallA recruitment video produced by the Central Intelligence Agency is alarming the public over a woke-soaked message that blended parenting, race, gender and even emotional wellbeing, but a military analyst says the CIA is still doing its vital job behind the scenes.

“I am a woman of color. I am a mom. I am a cisgender Millennial who's been diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder,” the Latina employee, 36, says in the promotional video.

“I am intersectional,” she continues, “but my existence is not a box-checking exercise.”

Yet the two-minute video does, in fact, check off a number of left-wing boxes with buzzwords such as “patriarchal” and “intersectional” that are typically heard in a gender studies college course.

The job of America’s super-secret spy agency is to spy on our behalf, and to recruit other country’s citizens to spy for us, too, but the CIA officer brags about her parenting skills: She can change a baby’s diaper and console a crying toddler at the same time.

What is missing from the video, meanwhile, is any description of the CIA’s role in national defense, or even a mention of patriotism, or a brief glimpse of Old Glory flying.

“The CIA just released a recruitment video full of woke propaganda and America’s enemies are laughing their heads off,” Dinesh D’Souza, the conservative author, warned in a social media post.

“China and Russia loved this,” agreed Donald Trump Jr. in a Twitter post.

Reacting to the video, national security analyst Bob Maginnis tells One News Now it is obvious the CIA’s recruitment office is filled with “woke” people but, he insists, that is no cause for alarm.

“Now the reality is,” he says, “that these types of people don't last very long in the agency.”

The CIA is very good at weeding out the weak from its ranks, he says, because there is a thorough physical and psychological testing that can be a multi-year process.

“Don't paint the entire organization,” Maginnis advises, “with a couple of H.R. people that have gone a bit bonkers on the woke culture.”

Responding to the controversy, the CIA said in a statement it exceeded its recruitment goals in 2020 despite the pandemic but, in a Fox News interview, U.S. Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO) questioned who is being recruited.

"I question what the quality of the people, who are attracted to this recruiting technique, are all about," Rep. Buck told the cable news network.

Buck said the CIA has a history of patriotic Americans who love their country, and many who have given their lives for it, but he called it troubling that the recuitment video fails to mention service to the country.

Trump haters that mocked 'lab leak' mocked for sudden revelation

Chinese soldiers with masksWhat a difference a year makes: Donald Trump was mocked and vilified by the Left for suggesting the Chinese virus that swept across the world came from a high-level research lab in Wuhan, and now all of his detractors seem to be infected with memory loss as the common-sense lab leak theory gains acceptance among those who dismissed it a year ago.
