Unaccompanied minors avg. jumps 47 to 321 per day from Trump to Biden

US Border Patrol agents 2President Joe Biden’s open borders policy reversing the Trump administration’s immigration policy hours after his inauguration has skyrocketed the number of unaccompanied minors at the border nearly sevenfold since the beginning of the year.

Despite the Biden administration’s insistence this week that the situation at the border is not an emergency, leaked documents drafted by the Health and Human Services (HHS) reveal that the United States’ border shelter system’s current 94% capacity will reach 100% this month.

"In the week ending March 1, the Border Patrol referred to HHS custody an average of 321 children per day,” Axios disclosed from the documents it obtained. "That's up from a weekly average of 203 in late January and early February — and just 47 per day during the first week of January."

Bauer: Biden created this border crisis

The claim by the Biden administration that there is no crisis on the U.S.-Mexico border is being disputed by the facts, says a conservative activist.

During a recent news conference, Department of Homeland Secretary director Alejandro Mayorkas was asked if he believes there is a crisis on the border, where the U.S. Border Patrol has been overwhelmed by a huge jump in unaccompanied minors.

“I think that the answer is no,” he replied. “I think there is a challenge at the border that we are managing and we have our resources dedicated to managing it."

During a recent appearance on American Family Radio, Gary Bauer of the Campaign for Working Families had a different take: Not only is there a crisis, he said, but it was started in the U.S. by the Democratic president.

“[Biden] took office with the border under control. Illegal immigration had plummeted,” Bauer recalled. “And Biden gets in and he couldn't wait to undo all the things the Trump administration did to secure the border."

Additionally, the release rate nearly doubled within a month.

“In the week ending March 1, an average of 174 children were released from HHS custody each day,” Axios’ report from the HHS document continued. “That was up from a weekly average of 90 in late January and early February.”

And it should be noted that these children are not being released back into their country of origin.

“To handle the surge, HHS is opening overflow shelters and speeding up the time it takes to release children to caretakers in the U.S.,” Townhall explained from the report.

Crisis? What Crisis?

Biden’s radical pro-immigration team is urging border crossers to delay their entry as the influx of illegal immigrants bombarding the southern border increases – with Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas at the same time telling the media this week that the administration’s far-left policy has not brought about a crisis.

“Regardless of [Mayorka’s claim], it's clear the number of children crossing the U.S.-Mexico border could fast overwhelm government systems – in ways similar to the crises in 2014 and 2019,” Axios pointed out. “The uptick comes while the administration continues to use an emergency public health order to quickly deport migrant adults and some families — including asylum seekers.”

During the previous border crisis, Democrats criticized former President Donald Trump for keeping children in “inhumane” cages … the same facilities constructed during the Obama administration that Biden utilized for overflow while serving as vice president. The Biden administration and mainstream media no longer use the term, “cages” and have used euphemisms to describe the facilities.

The hypocrisy continues as Biden uses policies similar to Trump’s – which he condemned during his presidential campaign and dumped shortly after his inauguration – to alleviate the border situation, while rejecting the former president’s policy regarding youth escalates the border crisis.

“The uptick comes while the administration continues to use an emergency public health order to quickly deport migrant adults and some families – including asylum seekers,” Axios stressed. “At the same time, Biden has reversed a Trump administration policy of using the public health order to quickly turn away unaccompanied children.”

The dire situation overwhelming America’s social welfare system created by Biden’s top officials – who put the disastrous immigration policy into place – has still not spurred a visit to the border, as White House Spokesperson Vendant Patel says such a trip might take place this weekend, but it was not yet scheduled on Friday.

“A trip is not finalized, and the White House continues to work on locking in details and logistics for a potential visit," Patel told Axios.

Not corroborating the Biden administration’s claim that a border crisis does not exist, the problem is not getting any better … but only escalating.

{T]he number of migrants held in Border Patrol custody longer than three days has been rising nearly each day,” Axios divulged from additional documents it secured.

This is consistent with a report by CNN on Wednesday, which announced that young children and teenagers – caught without legal guardians while illegally breaking over the border – have been detained by Border Patrol facilities for 77 hours on average – more than three days … which is the threshold Democrats often condemned Trump for exceeding.

It’s only going to get worse …

According to the source that provided Axios with the leaked HHS documents, the family migration surge is only expected to get worse in the upcoming months.

“Internally, government officials have been sounding alarm bells, as DHS is expecting a record number of child migrants this year,” Axios noted. “HHS has told the White House it will need a 20,000-bed capacity to humanely accommodate them.”

And with the pro-open borders Biden administration continuing to welcome illegal immigration into the U.S., there does not appear to be any reason the border crisis will end any time soon.

“Biden's message to migrants – get here and you can stay – has been heard loud and clear,” Townhall asserted.
