Honduran caravan (1)An immigration enforcement advocacy organization is not surprised that American voters want migrant caravans stopped at the border.

With Joe Biden in the White House, thousands of migrants from Central America have decided to make the trip north, knowing that America's new president is all for open borders and giving amnesty to millions of illegal aliens.

But according to new Rasmussen survey, 60% of likely U.S. voters say the government should stop the caravan at the border. That is double the 30% of voters who believe the migrants should be allowed to enter and remain in the U.S. until each of their cases can be individually reviewed.

Ira Mehlman, a spokesman for the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), is not surprised "at all" by these numbers.

Mehlman

"It is consistent with other public opinion polling that has been done that shows that a significant majority of Americans want immigration limited at least for the foreseeable future until we get a handle on the COVID crisis, until we get ... people back to work," Mehlman tells One News Now. "This is extremely consistent with what the American public has been saying for a long time."

But Biden, pushing his open borders agenda, is not listening.

"He is getting pressure from the far-left wing of his party," the FAIR spokesman asserts. "This is a big item on their agenda -- encouraging people to come to the border, with orders saying we're not going to deport anybody for the first 100 days, promising mass amnesty."
