Biden-Harris presserRolling back Trump polices to help illegal immigrants is an important goal for the incoming Biden administration, says the head of an immigration think tank, but there are many other goals that might push that one down the list.

The incoming administration says it plans to introduce an immigration bill that creates a path for citizenship for the majority of the 11 million illegal aliens living in the United States.

Mark Krikorian, executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies, tells One News Now Biden plans to fulfill a campaign promise but there are other priorities, too.

“First of all, Congress has got to get coronavirus stuff they have to deal with,” Krikorian advises, “and Biden's made a big push of an infrastructure bill. For Congress, I suspect, immigration is going to be not the first priority."

That is not to suggest illegal aliens will remain quiet if their Democratic allies ignore the issue. One News Now reported in a Dec. 13 story, which also quotes Krikorian, that asylum-seeking illegals from Mexico stormed a border bridge in El Paso demanding to be allowed into the U.S.

The illegal aliens were chanting, "Biden, Biden, Biden" on the bridge.

Looking ahead to the midterm elections, Krikorian predicts Democrats will be faced with an overrun border as voters are getting ready to go to the polls.

“So the most, I think, they could get would be some kind of DACA amnesty, like a Dream Act,” he advises. “I just don't see Congress being able to pass a general amnesty for all 10 or 11 or 12 million illegal aliens.”
