A bestselling author and national security pundit contends that Americans should be appalled that illegal immigration is costing taxpayers a whopping $338 billion a year, and with the recent election of Mexico’s new socialist president, the number of illegals in the United States could increase, along with the taxpayer’s tab.
Democrats have pulled out all the stops in their efforts to paint the nation's hard-working border enforcement agents as Nazis – simply for trying to uphold the rule of law with regards to the detention of illegal alien children on the border.
One Democratic lawmaker has actually introduced a bill calling for the complete abolishment of Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE).
ACT for America Founder and President Brigitte Gabriel, who is also the author of the soon-to-be-released book titled, RISE: In Defense of Judeo-Christian Values and Freedom, warns that liberal Democrats will stop at nothing to ensure mass immigration into the U.S.
"The left is not willing to accept anything less than open borders for all third world countries and all Muslim nations to send their children to America – and we are forced to take care of them,” Gabriel argued. “We cannot that. Look we have to secure our borders."
Gabriel stands amazed that the annual cost of illegal immigration is a whopping $338 billion a year.
"$338-billion!” she exclaimed in disbelief. “This amount of money could stay here in America, be invested in America – in American jobs, in American companies, in America's future, in your pockets and my pockets and our children's pockets.”
Gabriel then put figure into perspective.
“This amount of money could pay our national debt in 50 years,” Gabriel stressed. “These are huge numbers."
Gabriel book will be released on September 11.
Things to get worse at the border?
Meanwhile, an immigration enforcement advocate warns that Mexico's new far-left socialist president could make things so bad that middle-class Mexicans will try to flee to the U.S.
But upcoming Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, who will take office on December 1, has promised to create jobs so Mexicans "can work and be happy where they were born, where their families are, their customs, their cultures," and so those who emigrate can do it by choice and not out of necessity.
Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) Policy Studies Director Jessica Vaughan, who is a former Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. State Department, is concerned about what Obrador’s socialist policies might do the Mexican economy.
"If his socialist policies cause the economy of Mexico to go in the tank, and if he is not successful in creating jobs, a lot [more] middle class Mexicans [will follow those who have] already fled,” Vaughan asserted. “And I think they will be the first ones to go if the socialism is oppressive."
Vaughan also argued that middle-class illegal aliens hurt the U.S. economy more than lower class illegals.
"We don't want to have people coming here illegally, whether they're farmers or bank tellers,” the immigration expert insisted. “It is still going to have a labor market effect, and it's still going to affect taxpayers that end up supporting families that relocate here. It's not okay to encourage that."
Vaughan stressed that in some cases, middle-class illegal aliens can drive up the price of real estate for American citizens.
A much worrisome future problem with the radical new president is the possibility of a war, warns Frank Gaffney of the Center for Security Policy.
That is a possibility, he says, if Obrador "radicalizes" his nation much like Hugo Chavez did in Venezuela. And there is a lot of "wishful thinking" at the moment that the new president is not a far-left radical, he says.
