'It's Islam stupid!' signIt's not uncommon to see marches for all kinds of causes but a "March Against Sharia" might be a first.

"March Against Sharia" is planned for June 10 in at least 29 cities around the country, says event organizer  Brigitte Gabriel of ACT for America.

Known for her grassroots activism against radical Islam, Gabriel says the idea of a march came after Muslim doctors in Detroit were arrested earlier this year for genital mutilation of young Muslim girls.

The idea began with a Facebook post about rallies to support the girls, she told American Family Radio talk show host Sandy Rios.

"So we decided we're going to have rallies nationwide," Gabriel said, "and we're going to call it 'March Against Sharia,' a march for human rights to stand up for these girls and to see what's happening."

A list of rally sites can be found here.

The weekend rally has lined up speakers that include Miriam Ibrahim, who was imprisoned in Sudan for her Christian faith. She will speak at a Virginia Beach rally that will also include Dr. Muhammad Mamzepour, a Muslim who is an outspoken critic of the Iran regime.

San Bernardino killersThe left-wing mecca of Seattle will include Iranian-born Mark Lori, a former Muslim and now a Christian whose ministry reaches out to Iranians.

One of three rallies in California will be held where Sayed Farooq and wife Tashfeen Malik (pictured at left) gunned down their co-workers during a Christmas party in 2015.

Gabriel told Rios that some homosexual activists have also voiced support for the rally, since the date falls near the June 12, 2016 nightclub shooting in which an Afghan immigrant killed 49 people in Orlando.

PULSE nightclub in Orlando 2A story about the march at WorldNetDaily, the right-wing news website, quoted a homosexual activist who supports Gabriel and ACT for America, and told the news website that the Orlando massacre was his "wake-up call" about Islamist radicals.

The bottom line, Gabriel said, is that America refuses to roll over like Europe.

"We're sending a very strong message to our enemies," she said, "that you better be on your toes because we're coming after you and we're going to resist you."
