PULSE outreach 2018More than 60 Christian leaders from numerous Christian ministries are mobilizing across the United States after a two-day gathering late last month in Orlando, Florida, that united the ministry heads to pray and network for Global Outreach Day’s GO 2020 – a nationwide evangelistic movement that commences in May to touch millions of Americans with the gospel message.

Reaching the masses with love

Global Outreach Day international director Beat Baumann – along with GO 2020 America director Dave Gibson, who organized the Orlando event – is eager to kick off their eighth year of mobilizing thousands of churches, organizations and denominations to spread the gospel from coast to coast.

"We shared the vision and gave an update on how the whole movement has progressed," Baumann announced in a press release issued for the event. "The main outcome is that everyone at the meeting made a commitment to participate."

GO 2020 will utilize a wide array of ministries this year to reach a fallen world at a time that many biblical scholars believe is heading into the Last Days. These evangelistic groups include: CRU (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ), Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), Youth with a Mission (YWAM), Dare 2 Share Ministries, Pro Athletes Outreach, National Latino Evangelical Coalition, American Bible Society, Promise Keepers, K-LOVE Radio, Outreach Inc., and Every Home for Christ, along with dozens of many other groups.

The overarching goal is to mobilize 100 million believers to reach one billion people with the gospel just a few months from now in May, according to the event’s website.

Dare 2 Share Ministries president Greg Stier is excited to be a part of a new widespread revival.

"I believe we're already in the beginning of the third great awakening" Stier expressed. "Three things are happening. Prayer is being prioritized, believers are being mobilized and unity is being maximized."

Church of God director of evangelism Mark Swank said in the early stages of this year’s event, nearly a quarter million views of the countdown have already been tallied.

"We've mobilized a team to push this and each state has this countdown embedded on their website," Swank informed. "We're targeting May for a massive push on social media for Global Outreach Day."

Jeff Farmer, who serves as the president of the Pentecostal-Charismatic Churches of North America – which represents a coalition of more than 30 denominations, a few megachurches and several organizations – announced this year’s theme.

"The theme of our annual meeting is GO 2020,” he divulged. “We're totally committed to GO 2020 during the month of May."

GO 2020 America director Dave Gibson – who also serves as pastor of missions and evangelism for Grace Church – indicated that his church is praying for 2,020 people to reach five people for Jesus Christ.

"We're equipping people to share the gospel and starting houses of prayer," Gibson shared, noting that his local radio station is promoting GO 2020 and that his church will be participating in a “Commissioning Sunday.”

"God is really moving, and we're trying to scale this around the country," he concluded.
