syringes (3)The American Medical Association is embracing critical race theory – and at least one medical professional is giving the AMA a bad diagnosis.

In its 86-page "Organizational Strategic Plan To Embed Racial Justice and Advance Health Equity," the AMA's Center for Health Equity contends that "oppression, exclusion, and racism harm and kill, sapping our society of its full potential in all corners, and especially in health."

One of the factors behind the plan – explained on page 81 – is what the AMA describes as "a racial uprising and reckoning spurred by the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police officers (and many other deaths of Black people due to white supremacy and police brutality)."

Twila Brase, RN and president/co-founder of Citizens' Council for Health Freedom, tells One News Now that the AMA's stance on this issue is really the AMA bringing Marxism into medicine.

Brase

"This is part of the critical race theory," she explains, "and the charge that we're all either oppressed or an oppressor, and the idea that this is happening in medicine and an entire report to counter it – just shows how wrong the AMA is."

According to Brase, all one has to do is look at the different types of doctors and patients there are to see this is not a problem.

"I think that they are going to have to show proof – and I don't believe they would be able to show proof – that there is structural racism [and] health inequities that have to do with race and racism," she adds.

The Center for Health Equity, established by the AMA in April 2019, is tasked with "identifying ways to dismantle racism in our health system as well as facilitating, strengthening and amplifying the AMA's work to eliminate health inequities rooted in historical and contemporary injustices and discrimination."

While it may have what Brase calls a "veneer that it is the voice of the American doctor," she contends the AMA "does not encompass the majority of doctors."
