Dr. Anthony Fauci maskedRepublicans in the House of Representatives want to fire Dr. Anthony Fauci.

The Fauci Incompetence Requires Early Dismissal (FIRED) Act, introduced by Representative Warren Davidson (R-Ohio), sets a 12-year term limit for appointees serving in the capacity of director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. The position is currently held by Dr. Anthony Fauci, who has served there since 1984.

"Dr. Fauci represents everything that President Eisenhower warned us about in his farewell address: The scientific-technical elite steering the country toward their own ends," Rep. Davidson said in a statement. "Americans have had decades of Dr. Fauci's leadership, and he publicly failed to respond appropriately to the COVID-19 pandemic, [so] it is time for him to step aside so that new leadership can 'follow the science' and start reopening America."

Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC) is a co-sponsor of the legislation.

"He's been wrong on most all of his predictions, [such as] a million-plus dying in America to hospitals being overrun," Norman tells One News Now. "He's been incoherent on his use of masks."

The South Carolina representative also criticizes Dr. Fauci for his silence on illegal immigrants being allowed into the country without being tested for the virus, not to mention the new strains the country stands to face with unfettered access by illegal aliens.

"He just turned into a political animal to be honest with you," says Norman. "He's been there too long. 12 years is enough; that's what this bill says, and we need somebody who can really tell the truth and cite the facts rather than give political answers, which I think he's given."

Representatives Chip Roy (R-TX) and Andy Biggs (R-AZ) are also co-sponsors of the FIRED Act.
