Trump and NBC Savannah GuthrieA media watchdog is seconding political pundits who saw two distinctly different tones on the two networks that hosted "dueling town halls" last week with the two major party presidential candidates.

ABC hosted the Democratic challenger, former Vice President Joe Biden. Moderator George Stephanopoulos was accused of simply moving from one "softball" query to another as he introduced the questioners.

"There's a setting for that, and it's called an interview," he explains to OneNewsNow. "If you want to do that, that's great – but that wasn't what the town hall is."

The rest of the two broadcasts went about the same, with a litany of softball questions being tossed to Biden from mostly Democratic audience members, two of whom ABC failed to disclose were former Democratic political staffers. As for Trump, he was applauded for maintaining his composure through an hour of pointed, personal, and policy questions.

Former George W. Bush adviser Karl Rove described the two events as a "one-sided deal" with Biden being treated with kid gloves and Trump having to face a much more confrontational moderator. Gainor says it's what he's come to expect from the American mainstream media.

"Journalism, such as it is, is broken – and no one has done more to reveal that to the American public than Trump," says the MRC spokesman.
