CNN's Don Lemon with Chris RuddyIt was a remarkable exchange recently when a Trump supporter defended the president to CNN's Don Lemon and that network's liberal base of support.

Somewhat against form, CNN actually booked a legitimate Trump supporter to offer his opinion on the liberal news network. Newsmax CEO Chris Ruddy (right) came on with CNN Tonight's Don Lemon (left) after whistleblower allegations surfaced that President Donald Trump brought up Vice President Joe Biden and rumors of his son's corruption during a phone conversation with the newly elected Ukrainian president:

Lemon (CNN host): "I think everyone agrees that it should be investigated and that it should be a thoughtful investigation."

Ruddy (Newsmax CEO): "You thought the Mueller thing should be investigated – the 'collusion thing' – that took two years, $50 million. I could tell you twelve headlines from CNN and other media that never came out to be true."

Lemon tried to redirect the conversation away from the Mueller report, which CNN and the rest of the mainstream media incorrectly thought was going to be the president's undoing:

Ruddy: "At the end of the day there was no collusion, right? I think we both agree the Mueller report was very definitive."

Lemon: "The Mueller report – listen, it never said no collusion. We're not talking about the Mueller report."

Ruddy: "It was very definitive."

Ruddy proceeded to reprimand Washington Democrats for prematurely starting impeachment proceedings:

Ruddy: "[They want to impeach Trump] for the very thing that Biden did, where he was trying to push out a prosecutor. You don't show that clip many times on CNN."

Lemon: "We're not here to talk about Joe Biden because none of that has been …"

Ruddy: "You don't want to talk about anything that's a counternarrative."
