A pro-family group says it's disappointing that TV Land is set to premiere a new show that mocks teachers and includes children in its vulgar jokes.
The new comedy series, "Teachers," is set to premiere on TV Land beginning January 13. It's scheduled for a 10-episode run.
Monica Cole, director of the ministry OneMillionMoms, says the comedy series is extremely disturbing.
"Because of the disrespect shown toward teachers, the mockery and belittlement of teachers," says Cole, "and also just the language and the cruelty the teachers show to the students."
Child actors on the show are repeatedly used as props for suggestive and outright vulgar adult jokes, which Cole describes as crossing a line "that should have never been crossed."
In the show, teacher discussions with students, coworkers, and parents involve sexual innuendos, sleeping around, drugs, alcohol, lying and deception.
Even though young children are typically in bed when the show airs, Cole argues that the show isn't appropriate for teens or even adults.
