As of this week, another school district has caved to pressure to adopt the idea of doing away with police protection in schools, and one conservative political commentator says it's a mistake.
Bowing to the demands of leftists and Black Live Matter activists, the Oakland, California, school board unanimously voted to abolish its own police force without any sort of plan. Derryck Green of Project 21 says the move is putting more than children at risk.
"They're not only putting the children in danger by this decision; they're also putting the teachers and administrators in jeopardy as well," he submits.
Green believes administrators and the board are opening a very wide door that will likely lead to lawsuits in the wake of any school disasters.
"We know that there are a significant number of disruptive students," Green notes. "They're going to have to be accountable for this decision and the consequences thereof when there are no police officers to prevent these things from escalating."
Polls show that Americans overwhelmingly disagree with the idea of defunding or abolishing the police, according to Breitbart.
