Despite massive protests from parents, the Austin Independent School District board is pushing ahead with plans to adopt a radical sex-ed curriculum.
AISD's plan to use Planned Parenthood's "Get Real" curriculum was foiled because state law prohibits transactions between schools and abortion providers, which stopped an attempt to indoctrinate middle schoolers.
Mary Elizabeth Castle of Texas Values says the board's assertion that the district is now developing the sex-ed curriculum internally is not true.
"If you actually have a chance to look at the curriculum” she tells OneNewsNow, “they actually adopted the curriculum from a Canadian abortion provider."
Not only will Austin schools ignore abstinence, which is required by Texas law, Castle says the school will promote homosexuality as part of the curriculum.
"They're teaching student to advocate for LGBT issues,” she warns. “They even tell students that they need to go to ‘pride’ festivals and they tell students they need to advocate for LGBT political agendas."
Despite numerous parental protests, Castle reports the board has ignored those concerns throughout the process.
A final school board vote is expected Oct. 28 according to Texas Values.
