I Stand With IsraelA public school district in Illinois has pulled an anti-Israel staff training course entitled "Teaching Palestine" after public uproar.

Pro-Israel group StandWithUs says it fought plans by School District 219 after learning faculty members would be taught about the “Israel occupation of Palestine."

School District 219 serves Lincolnwood, Skokie, Morton Grove, and Niles.

The course content was produced by the nice-sounding Jewish Voice for Peace organization, which the Anti-Defamation League has designated one of the top 10 anti-Israel groups in the country, according to Shapiro.

Faculty at two high schools were the target of the course, StandWithUS warned in a press release.

High school staff would also have been instructed on how to respond to parents' objections to anti-Zionist curriculum, says Peggy Shapiro of StandWithUs.

"It doesn't teach. It indoctrinates,” she tells OneNewsNow. “It ignores history. It dismisses the future. And it completely has nothing to do with facts. Other than that, it's fine."

She says when StandWithUs and the Simon Wiesenthal Center were alerted to the controversial topic, they sent a “community action alert” to approximately 4,000 people. The course was pulled by the end of the day.
