teacher reading to kindergartnersParents in a Columbus, Ohio suburb fought back recently when they discovered their school was trying to slip a lesson about transgenderism past them.

Earlier this month, Windermere Elementary in Upper Arlington sent out a notice less than 24 hours before first grade students were to be read a book about transgenderism because a classmate was supposedly transitioning. Linda Harvey of Mission America, who was alerted by parents, says the school's stealth did not work.

"They were trying to sneak something past parents and yet be able to claim that they gave notice," Harvey comments. "But this community and the parents and the grandparents did not let them get away with it."

Harvey, Linda (Mission: America)She says this is an example of why parents need to be involved if their children are in public school.

"If people don't speak out, things continue to go," she asserts. "Children will be corrupted more and more intentionally and more and more graphically unless parents and grandparents continue to be watchful and to speak out."

In the midst of the uproar, Windermere administrators decided to delay the reading and offer an opt-out, then later canceled it altogether.
